Full lecture slides: Dynamic User Experiences – Design & Usability

On May 16th 2024, I had the pleasure to talk about two simple tools to use when developing games from a user-centric perspective in the name of the Institute of Psychology for Diagnostics and Intervention at my Alma Mater RWTH Aachen University.

The two tools mentioned are the Four Domains of Play by Jason VandeBerghe (2014) in combination with the adapted Self-Determination Theory/Player Experience of Need Satisfaction model by Richard Ryan (2006-2017). Both methods are looking at understanding player motivation and attention to increase player retention during the various stages of play.

I would like to thank all students for their questions and joining in the discussions! Please find the PDF slides below. Do not distribute elsewhere.
